Wang and Phillips deliver clutch ninth-inning RBIs to snap losing streak.

Brett Phillips recorded his second two-homer game of 2017, while Wei-Chung Wang drove in the winning run and earned the win on the mound to lead the Colorado Springs Sky Sox to a 15-11 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas in front of 5,683 at Southwest University Field.

With the win, the Sky Sox (22-12) snapped a three-game losing streak and picked up its first win against the PCL Pacific Southern Division. The 4:05 marathon also marked the longest nine-inning game for the Sox this season.
Tied at 11 entering the ninth inning, Wang grounded the eventual game-winning run up the middle on an 0-2 count, scoring Ivan De Jesus, who had walked to extend the inning after two quick outs off Carlos Fisher. One batter later, Phillips clubbed a three-run exclamation point to right-centerfield, scoring Lewis Brinson and Wang to complete the third four-run inning between the two teams.

The visitors jumped out to a 5-0 lead through four and a half innings. The Chihuahuas (18-21) rallied to take a 7-5 lead over the next two innings, but the Sox responded with a six-run seventh inning to reach double-figures before El Paso responded with a four-run eighth inning.
Phillips began the seventh-inning rally by clubbing a hanging curve ball to the party terraces in right field. With two outs, Kyle Wren and De Jesus singled to record each of their second RBIs, while Brinson doubled in De Jesus for his second RBI of the night. A wild pitch one batter later brought Brinson home to complete the big inning.
On the mound, Wang (1-0, 2.65) completed the win on the mound, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings. Making his second spot start of the season, Michael Blazek threw four scoreless innings, striking out three Chihuahuas and lowering his ERA to 2.60.
The two teams meet for game three of the series for in 11:05 a.m. MT matinee. Sky Sox RHP Paolo Espino (4-0, 2.54) looks to add on to his undefeated record when he faces El Paso RHP Tyrell Jenkins (3-2, 4.95).
