Starting Pitcher Jose Franco Joins Dragons from Daytona
The Dayton Dragons, in conjunction with the Cincinnati Reds, announced the following roster addition today: Right-handed pitcher Jose Franco has been transferred to Dayton from Daytona. Franco will be utilized as a starting pitcher and will make his High-A debut on Saturday night, replacing Kevin Abel in the Dayton rotation

Right-handed pitcher Jose Franco has been transferred to Dayton from Daytona.
Franco will be utilized as a starting pitcher and will make his High-A debut on Saturday night, replacing Kevin Abel in the Dayton rotation (Abel was promoted to Double-A Chattanooga last week). With Daytona this season, made eight starts, going 1-0 with a 3.64 ERA. He struck out 41 batters in 29.2 innings.
The Dragons open a six-game series in Beloit, Wisconsin tonight against the Beloit Sky Carp at 7:35 pm (EDT).
