Lakewood, N.J. (June 20, 2025) — The Hudson Valley Renegades blasted a season-high five home runs on Friday night at ShoreTown Ballpark in an 11-1 victory over the Jersey Shore BlueClaws.

Minor League rehabber Duke Ellis had a huge game at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with two home runs, two runs scored, three RBIs and a walk. It was Ellis’ first career multi-homer game. Dillon Lewis also had a monster night at the plate, finishing 3-for-5 with three runs scored, a double, a triple, a home run and three RBIs.

The Renegades took a 4-0 lead in the top of the second when they blasted three homers off Mavis Graves. Ellis led off with his first of the night, and after a walk to Omar Martinez, Jose Colmenares blasted at two-run homer to left. Three batters later, Tomas Frick connected for a solo homer to left for his third round-tripper of the season.

Lewis led off the top of the third with a solo home run to left-center to extend the lead to 5-0. It was the second homer in as many games for Lewis, and his fourth with Hudson Valley.

Ben Shields turned in a strong outing in his fourth start of his Minor League rehab assignment, allowing one unearned run across four innings on three hits while walking one and striking out three. The lone run he allowed came home after a fielding error by Ellis allowed Bryson Ware to score on a Pierce Bennett double in the fourth.

Hudson Valley broke the game open in the top of the seventh against Reese Dutton, plating four runs, highlighted by a two-run triple by Lewis. Ellis added a two-run blast in the top of the ninth to extend the lead to 11-1.

Sebastian Keane (4-0), Matt Keating, and Bryce Warrecker combined for 5.0 scoreless innings of relief behind Shields, allowing two combined hits and striking out six.
