BOX SCORE BOW 2 REA 3

The Fightins kicked off a six game set against the Bowie Baysox with a walk-off winner, courtesy of Josh Stephen in the bottom of the ninth.

Tyler Phillips made his Baseballtown debut as the starter Tuesday night, and put together two scoreless frames.

Reading's offense was on the board first, as Bryson Stott picked up an RBI single, bringing in Madison Stokes after his two-out double.

Phillips was piggybacked by Josh Hendrickson, who took a bulk of the innings in relief. The lefty went five innings allowing just one earned on three hits while striking out four.

Hendrickson's only run allowed came in the top of the fourth, as the game would remained tied at one apiece until the bottom of the seventh when Matt Kroon drove in Stephen on an RBI single to make it 2-1.

The Baysox would tie it up again in the eighth, as Kyle Dohy (W, 2-0) allowed one run in two innings pitched.

Dohy would keep the R-Phils tied heading into the bottom of the ninth after striking out the side.

In the bottom half, Stott and Jhailyn Ortiz would pick up back-to-back singles to put traffic on the bases. Stephen followed them up with the late-game heroics, slapping the third consecutive single to win it 3-2.
