Stewart Gives 'Claws Back-to-Back SAL Pitchers of the Week

LAKEWOOD, NJ - BlueClaws pitcher Will Stewart was named South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending June 3rd, giving the BlueClaws back-to-back pitchers of the week after David Parkinson won one week earlier. 
The left-hander from Hazel Green, Alabama made one start last week, throwing a complete game, three-hit shutout with a career high 10 strikeouts on Wednesday agaist Greensboro. 
Stewart became just the fourth BlueClaws pitcher in the last 10 seasons (Lisalverto Bonilla in 2011, Tyler Viza in 2015 and Nick Fanti in 2016) to throw nine innings in a game. 
Through June 3rd, Stewart is 5-0 with a league-leading 1.23 ERA. The BlueClaws are 9-0 in his nine starts this year. As a team, the BlueClaws have a league-best 2.56 ERA and have thrown 11 shutouts. They have allowed three runs or less in 36 of their 56 games. 
Stewart, Parkinson, and Spencer Howard have all been named SAL Pitcher of the Week so far this season. Nick Fanti, Ranger Suárez, JoJo Romero, and Sixto Sanchez were all winners last year.
