PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (July 1, 2018) - The Stone Crabs claimed the series with a 6-3 win over the Tampa Tarpons at Charlotte Sports Park Sunday.  
With the game tied at two in the sixth, Stone Crabs (38-39, 4-6) left fielder Jake Fraley  started it off with a single and then scored on a Rene Pinto  double to left field. Two batters later, Lucius Fox  singled to right, scoring Pinto to extend the lead to 4-2. After a stolen base by Fox, Tristan Gray  doubled off the right field wall to score Fox and add an insurance run.
Down 2-0 entering the fifth, David Olmedo-Barrera singled to right before the next two batters were retired. With two outs, Robbie Tenerowicz cranked a double to center to bring home the Stone Crabs' first run and make it 2-1. The next batter was Jesús Sánchez , who hit a double to score Tenerowicz from second and tie the game.
Still up 5-2 in the seventh, Josh Lowe  hit his 17th double of the season to right center. Then on a 3-1 pitch, Jake Fraley smacked a triple to dead center field with two outs which scored Lowe, extending the lead to 6-2.
Riley O'Brien made his home debut Sunday, pitching 4.2 innings of two-run, five-hit baseball in a no decision. Reece Karalus (1-1) was credited with a win after going 2.1 scoreless innings.
Justin Kamplain (2-1) allowed four runs in relief for the Tarpons (40-40, 5-5), taking the loss.
The Stone Crabs will open a two-game series against the Ft. Myers Miracle in Port Charlotte on Monday at 6:35 p.m. Willy Ortiz (4-2, 4.24) will make the start for the Stone Crabs. Coverage begins at 6:20 p.m. on the Stone Crabs Baseball Network
