LOUISVILLE, KY – The Omaha Storm Chasers plated three runs in the fourth and sixth innings on the way to a 7-3 win over the Louisville Bats Friday night at Louisville Slugger Field.

[BOX SCORE]

The Louisville offense got off to a good start, plating the games’ opening run in the bottom of second inning. Stuart Fairchild led off the frame with a walk and was doubled home by Juniel Querecuto to give the Bats a 1-0 lead. It was Querecuto’s 20th double of the season.

Omaha battled back in the top of the fourth inning, scoring three runs to take the lead. Logan Porter and Freddy Fermin each had RBI doubles in the inning, while Dairon Blanco contributed a sacrifice fly.

The Bats responded immediately in the next half inning, tying the game at 3-3 on Ronnie Dawson’s RBI double and Lorenzo Cedrola’s RBI single.

The Storm Chasers took the lead right back in the top of the fifth inning when Drew Waters hit a ground ball to first base that brought home Nick Loftin who had doubled. Loftin then hit a no-doubt, three-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to extend the Omaha advantage to 7-3.

From then on the Storm Chasers’ bullpen took over, with three relievers combining to hold the Bats scoreless over the final 4.1 innings of the game.

The Bats and Storm Chasers will continue their series Saturday night at Louisville Slugger Field. Levi Stoudt (0-2, 7.36 ERA) will start for Louisville, opposing Jackson Kowar (3-8, 5.79 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.
