The Colorado Springs Sky Sox saw its six-game winning streak snapped Saturday night, falling 9-6 to the Omaha Storm Chasers in front of 5,257 at Werner Park.

The hosts scored a pair of runs in the first inning, but Colorado Springs (49-31) cut into the deficit in the third inning. Kyle Wren lined a RBI double to the left-centerfield gap, scoring Nate Orf, who tripled to lead off the frame. The two-bagger was Wren's 11th in 2017 and the No. 9 batter drove in run No. 31 in the process.
The Storm Chasers (38-42) added a pair of runs over the next two innings, but Lewis Brinson pulled the Sox to within one run for the second time in the game in the top of the fifth inning. With two outs, the Sox right fielder lined a two-run double to the left-centerfield gap, scoring Orf and Wren and cutting the score to 4-3.
The Sky Sox fought back and tied the game with a single run in the sixth inning. Garrett Cooper led off the frame with an opposite-field solo home run to right field, giving the PCL All-Star first baseman 15 long balls and 70 runs batted in through his first 66 games of the season.
Brinson gave the Sox their first lead of the night, punching a two-out single to left field to score Orf, who finished the night with three runs scored. The 3-RBI night gave Brinson four such games in 2017, placing him second on the team behind Cooper's six.
Nick Noonan added another run in the ninth inning, hitting his third home run of the season-and the second opposite-field shot for the Sox in the game-to left field, putting the visitors up 6-4 late in the game. The solo shot was Noonan's first long ball in a Sox uniform since April 11 in Memphis.
The Sky Sox look to start a new winning streak Sunday night at 6:05 p.m. MT, when RHP Angel Ventura (2-1, 4.91) makes his second career start against Omaha and RHP Miguel Almonte (0-0, 0.00).
