Williamsport, P.A.- Four Crosscutters pitchers combined to allow just one run in their 3-1 win over the State College Spikes, giving the Cutters the series victory.

Max Loven made his thrid start of the season and allowed one run over four innings of work. Loven struck out four batters, walked one and allowed just one hit in the no decision.

Williamsport was able to plate their first run of the game in the bottom of the 4th inning, doing so in a very unusual manner as Freddie Matos scored from 1st base on three pitches without the ball being put in play. Matos took 2nd on a passed ball, followed by taking 3rd base on a wild pitch and then scored on another wild pitch, tying the game at 1-1.

Jerome Bohannon took over in the top of the 5th inning and gave the Crosscutters a pair of scoreless innings, using four strikeouts to work around a walk and a base hit. Bohannon would earn his first win of the season.

The Cutters utilized another passed ball in the bottom of the 6th inning, allowing Ramon Bramasco to race home and score the go ahead run, making it 2-1. They would not surrender the lead.

Brian Rodriguez tossed a scoreless inning in the top of the 7th inning for Williamsport, striking out two and allowing a walk and a hit.

Bramasco added an insurance run in the bottom of the 7th inning, plating Noah Hemphill with a fielder’s choice, advancing the lead to 3-1. It was the only RBI of the night for the Cutters and the only earned run allowed by the Spikes.

Dylan Peiffer secured his first save of the season, working a pair of scoreless frames, needing just one strike out.

Williamsport will enjoy a league-wide off day tomorrow before heading to Niles, Ohio, where they will start a three-game series with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers on Tuesday.
