Stuart Homers But Claws Fall 10-5 in 10 Innings

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Hudson Valley tied the game in the ninth and scored five times in the 10th to top the BlueClaws 10-5 on Tuesday at ShoreTown Ballpark.

Robbie Burnett tied the game with an RBI double in the ninth off Kevin Warunek. Gabe Craig gave up five runs (four earned) in the 10th to take the loss. Dean Toigo's RBI single put Hudson Valley ahead while Eric Genther sealed the game with a three run double.

Jersey Shore has dropped eight straight at home after the loss on Tuesday.

The BlueClaws took the lead in the first with a run on a wild pitch. Daunte Stuart homered in the second for a 2-0 lead and Griffin Burkholder added an RBI single as well.

Hudson Valley rallied to take the lead in the third, scoring three times. The inning was capped by a three run home run by Jared Lovich, his third with Hudson Valley and 21st of the season overall.

Jersey Shore then tied the game in the bottom of the third on an RBI single from Kodey Shojinaga. Stuart then gave the BlueClaws the lead with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.

The game remained 5-4 into the ninth when Hudson Valley tied it on an RBI double from Robbie Burnett off Warunek.

Stuart went 2-4 while Burkholder and Brady Day also had two hits for the BlueClaws in the loss.

The teams continue their series on Wednesday at 12:05 pm. LHP Juan Amarante starts for Jersey Shore.
