Round Rock Falls to Sugar Land, 10-2
HOW IT HAPPENED: After trading scoreless frames in the first, Sugar Land jumped out to an early lead with a five-run second inning. 1B Trenton Brooks singled and C Collin Price followed with a two-run home run. A walk by RF Lucas Spence and a single from DH César Salazar

After trading scoreless frames in the first, Sugar Land jumped out to an early lead with a five-run second inning. 1B Trenton Brooks singled and C Collin Price followed with a two-run home run. A walk by RF Lucas Spence and a single from DH César Salazar put runners at first and second. Spence scored on a SS Pascanel Ferreras double and Salazar also scored on the play after a fielding error from RF Trevor Hauver. Ferreras tallied the final run of the inning after two wild pitches from RHP Winston Santos.
The Express scored twice in the bottom half of the inning to cut the deficit to three. Round Rock loaded the bases following a single from C Logan O’Hoppe and walks from 3B Cody Freeman and 2B Diego Castillo. O’Hoppe scored on a throwing error from Price for the E-Train’s first run of the game. 1B Alejandro Osuna singled, sending Freeman in to score from third. Round Rock trailed 5-2 after two.
In the fifth, LF C.J. Alexander led off the inning with a solo home run to grow the Sugar Land lead to four.
The Space Cowboys added four runs with two outs in the ninth courtesy of two-run home runs from Price and Salazar.
The Express loaded the bases in the ninth but could not scratch across any runs as they fell on Wednesday night 10-2.

INF JOHN TAYLOR: singled in the 4th inning, extending his team-leading on-base streak to 9 games…slashing .273/.429/.424 with a home run and 9 RBI since the streak began on 8/1.
C LOGAN O’HOPPE: went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run…extended his hitting streak to 7 games…has hit safely in 8 of 10 games since joining the Express on 8/1…owns a 51.5% hard-hit rate with the E-Train.
LHP ANTHONY VENEZIANO: made his 4th appearance for the Express and 3rd in relief…allowed 4 H, 1 BB and 1 R-ER…allowed just 2 ER over his last 3 appearances (12.0 IP)…has now struck out 14 batters and walked 1 across 12.1 total innings with Round Rock.
