Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns lost the final game of a three-game set against the Delmarva Shorebirds on Wednesday 8-4, being swept in the process as the teams completed their third game in 24 hours. The Suns are 3-10 overall and start a four-game series on the road Thursday in Lexington, KY with a 7:05 PM first pitch against the Lexington Legends.

Delmarva got on the board first in the second inning against Suns starter Jackson Tetreault. Branden Becker walked, and Ryan Ripken singled to left field. Trevor Craport doubled to left, scoring both runners to give the Shorebirds a 2-0 lead. Craport went to third when Mason McCoy grounded out to first and scored when T.J. Nichting hit a sacrifice fly to center field, making it a 3-0 Delmarva advantage.
The Shorebirds extended their lead in the third with Tetreault still on the mound. Will Robertson led off with a double to center off the Muni Monster and with one out Seamus Curran singled to right, scoring Robertson and padding the Delmarva lead, 4-0.
The Suns halved the deficit in the fifth against Shorebirds starter Michael Baumann. With one out, Alex Flores and Cole Freeman walked, and both scored when Luis Garcia tripled to the right field corner making it a 4-2 game. Garcia tried to advance when a pitch got away from Delmarva catcher Ben Breazeale, but the backstop recovered and tossed the ball to Baumann who tagged Garcia at the plate for the third out of the inning.
Hagerstown tied the game in the seventh against Shorebirds reliever Scott Burke. Aldrem Corredor led off with a walk and Kameron Esthay slugged his third home run of the season to tie the game. Esthay's homer went 404-feet over the right-field wall to give the Suns new life with a 4-4 score.
Delmarva put up four runs in the ninth to take the lead back against Suns reliever Max Engelbrekt. With two outs, Craport walked and went to second on a passed ball, scoring when McCoy singled to left to make it 5-4. Nichting doubled home McCoy to give the Shorebirds a two-run cushion and Jarrett walked. With two outs, Breazeale doubled to left, knocking in Nichting and Jarrett to put Delmarva up 8-4. Curran singled in the next at-bat to move Breazeale to third, but the Suns went to the bullpen to bring in Jared Brasher. Brasher struck out Branden Becker to end the ninth.
The Suns threatened in the ninth with a last-gasp effort to mount a comeback against reliever Alex Katz. Corredor led off with a single and Esthay walked to start the inning. Flores was hit by a pitch that loaded the bases, but Freeman grounded into a force out that retired Corredor at the plate for the first out. Garcia struck out and Juan Soto flew out to left, ending the game with the bases loaded. The Suns lost their 10th game of the season by a final score of 8-4.
