Noll leads 14-hit Suns outburst; teams split four-game series

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Jake Noll had three hits and drove in three to spoil July 3rd at FirstEnergy Park as Hagerstown topped the BlueClaws 6-3 in front of 8,558 on Monday night.
The BlueClaws (4-8/44-38) had won the two previous games but split the four-game series with Hagerstown (9-3/47-34).
The Suns scored three times in the fourth, taking the lead on a Sheldon Neuse RBI single and adding a two-run single from Jake Noll. However, after Noll's hit, the Suns had the bases loaded and none out and Nick Fanti was able to wiggle out of additional damage.
In the fifth, however, Noll added an RBI single to score Aldrem Corredor and put the Suns up 5-0.
Lakewood starter Nick Fanti, who took the loss to fall to 5-2, came out after 4.1 innings, allowing four runs on eight hits.
After the Suns got a run off Tyler Hallead in the sixth, the BlueClaws got on the board in the bottom of the sixth on Darick Hall's 15th home run of the season, a two-run blast. All 15 of Hall's long balls have come since May 1st and he has now driven in 58 runs since the start of May, most in Minor League Baseball in that period.
Suns starter McKenzie Mills, who improved to 10-2 with the win, came out after Hall's home run, allowing those two runs over five innings of work while setting a new career high with 10 strikeouts.
Kyle Simonds came on and allowed an RBI single by Carlos Duran to pull the BlueClaws within 5-3 after six.
The Suns added a run in the eighth off Addison Russ, making his BlueClaws debut, and Tommy Peterson got the last three outs for his eighth save.
Hall, who had two hits, and Duran, who had three, combined for all five hits by the BlueClaws in the loss.
In addition to Noll's three hits, Aldrem Corredor, DJ Johnson, Tres Barrera, and Angelo La Bruna had two hits apiece .
The BlueClaws head to Salisbury, Maryland to open a three-game series with Delmarva on the 4th of July. LHP Bailey Falter (3-5) starts the series opener opposite RHP Jhon Peluffo (5-2).
