Taurek’s Grand Slam Not Enough Tuesday

August 25, 2026 — EVERETT, Wash.: Following an early scoring surge, the Everett AquaSox fell to the Eugene Emeralds 10-4 in front of 1,685 fans at Everett Memorial Stadium on Tuesday night for Sam’s Cats & Dogs Bark in the Park.
Each team found a grand slam in the first inning of play, tying the game 4-4 quite early on. Dalton Wentz crushed his first Emeralds home run for a grand slam to open the scoring, and Aiden Taurek delivered the big blast for the AquaSox. Positioning Taurek for the early damage were Carlos Jimenez, Korbyn Dickerson, and Luke Stevenson, who singled, walked, and singled, respectively.

The Emeralds took the lead during the top of the third, plating two runs as Walker Martin and Hayden Jatczak each hit an RBI single. Furthering the green-and-gray’s lead in the top of the fifth was again Jatczak, who hit his second RBI single of the game, and Robert Hipwell, who hit into an RBI groundout.
Eugene brought home another run during the top of the eighth inning, taking a 9-4 lead late in the game. With runners on the corners, Onil Perez dropped an RBI single into center field to score Jatczak. They raised their run total into double-digits in the game’s final frame, taking a 10-4 lead as Jatczak scored on a run-scoring error.
Emeralds pitchers took care of business beyond the first inning, keeping the AquaSox out of the scoring column for eight consecutive innings to lock down their six-run win during the bottom of the ninth inning.
