GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers dropped to the Rome Braves, 6-0 on Friday, April 28 in the first game of its doubleheader. The Braves moved to 7-10 on the season while the Grasshoppers fell to 12-6. Rome outhit Greensboro 7-2 with one Grasshoppers error.

Leading the Grasshoppers at the plate was Jackson Glenn going 1-3 with a double. Sammy Siani recorded the only other Greensboro hit.

Starting on the mound for the Grasshoppers was right-handed pitcher Braxton Ashcraft. Ashcraft tallied two strikeouts and gave up five hits and four earned runs on four innings of work. Ashcraft took the loss for the Grasshoppers and moved to 0-1 on the season.

AJ Smith-Shawver recorded the win for the Braves and moved to 1-0 on the season.

Due to inclement weather, the second game of tonight's doubleheader was postponed. A doubleheader will be played tomorrow Saturday, April 29 with two, seven-inning games starting at 5:00 pm. The Spectacular Saturday Firework show will take place following the conclusion of the second game.
