The Greenville Drive took on the Greensboro Grasshoppers in a Doubleheader Thursday Night

The Greenville Drive (18-32, 44-71) took on the Greensboro Grasshoppers (24-25,51-63) in a double-header to make up for a postponed game on July 10th in Greensboro. The Greensboro Grasshoppers were designated as the home team for the first game and won 3-2 on a line drive from third baseman Mike

The Greenville Drive (18-32, 44-71) took on the Greensboro Grasshoppers (24-25,51-63) in a double-header to make up for a postponed game on July 10th in Greensboro.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers were designated as the home team for the first game and won 3-2 on a line drive from third baseman Mike Jarvis to score Luke Brown and Jackson Glenn in the bottom of the seventh.

The Grasshoppers first run came by a Francisco Acuna homerun in the fifth.

The Drive put up two runs in the sixth by a Nick York two-run bomb to center field.

Greensboro’s Mitchell Miller took the win after pitching 1.1 innings and allowed two hits and no runs.

Greenville’s Maceo Campbell absorbed the loss after tossing 2.1 innings and gave up three runs and three hits.

The second game started slowly with three scoreless innings until Eli Wilson blasted a two-run homer to put the Grasshoppers on top 2-0 in the fourth inning. Second basemen Claudio Finol tacked on another run with an RBI single that scored Ernny Ordonez.

Wilson once again added to the away club’s efforts with a line drive single to score Abrahan Gutierrez.

Greensboro kept their foot on the gas and put two on the board in the sixth. The first on a line drive single from Jacob Gonzalez to score Finol, and the second on a wild pitch from Jordan DiValerio bringing Hudson Head home.

The Drive will continue the series tonight at 7:05. Tyler Uberstine (5-5, 3.90) will take the mound for Greenville against Valentin Linarez (3-8, 4.13).
