The Nine

He also ranks inside the top-3 with 24 hit-by-pitches, 57 home runs, and 60 stolen bases.

Chris Carter, another staple of the River Cats’ lineups during the early part of the 2010s (2009-2012), is the franchise leader with 65 homers. He also holds a place in the top-10 with 202 runs, 68 doubles, 233 RBIs, and 156 walks.

One of the fastest players in River Cats history, utility player Corey Wimberly, has the record for most steals and hit-by-pitches in a season. He successfully stole 56 bags and was hit 18 times in 2010.

Two more speed demons are infielder Jemile Weeks and utility player Eric Patterson. Weeks is tied for third with 14 triples in his River Cats career while Patterson is one of six River Cats to steal three bases in a game, doing so on May 19, 2009. Patterson also led the River Cats with a .307 batting average that season.

Outfielder Jermaine Mitchell, who is tied with Weeks with 14 triples, has the franchise record with 11 three-baggers in a season (2012).

One of the most athletic players in River Cats history is outfielder Jai Miller. The Alabama native led Sacramento with 32 home runs in 2011, the most since infielder Graham Koonce set the franchise record with 34 in 2003. After his baseball career, Miller walked-on to the University of Alabama football team in 2013.

Current River Cats lefty Joey Marciano set a franchise record in 2022 with 56 games pitched. He finished his debut Triple-A season with a 4-2 record, 4.12 ERA, nine saves, and 62 strikeouts in 59.0 innings.

Righty Jerome Williams, the Giants’ first round pick in 1999 out of Waipahu High School (Hawaii) won five games for the River Cats in 2009 as part of Oakland’s Minor Leagues.
