Vancouver, British Columbia – It was Star Wars Night at Nat Bailey Stadium and AquaSox Catcher Andy Thomas channeled his inner Luke Skywalker with a heroic 6 RBI night to lead the Everett AquaSox (9-13) to an 8-4 win over the Vancouver Canadians (10-10).

Everett struck early as Justin Lavey drove in the game’s first two runs with a single down the right field line that scored Noelvi Marte and Spencer Packard. Thomas was the next batter up and drove home David Schaeffer and Lavey to give the Sox a 4-0 lead in the first inning.

Thomas would then add to his RBI total in the third inning with a three-run home run over the right center field wall, scoring Dariel Gomez and Lavey in front of him and the AquaSox lead was 7-0.

Vancouver would close the gap with a two run third inning as both Zach Britton and Leo Jimenez contributed RBI doubles and then tack on two more runs in the fifth inning and cut the AquaSox lead to 7-4.

Thomas drove in the game’s final run in the eighth inning when Canadians shortstop Addison Barger misplayed a routine two-out pop up that somehow missed Barger’s glove, allowing Gomez to score and Thomas to add a sixth RBI to his total.

Everett starting pitcher Jimmy Kingsbury picked up the win in his AquaSox debut, going five innings, allowing six hits, four earned runs, zero walks and two strikeouts. The bullpen was outstanding as three different pitchers combined to shutout out the Canadians and only allow one hit over the game’s final four innings. Fred Villareal struck out four batters over two innings, Jackson Sigman in his AquaSox debut pitched a scoreless eighth inning and Evan Johnson retired all three batters that he faced in the ninth.

Thomas finished the night going three-for-four with a walk, double, home run, one run scored, six RBI and a stolen base.

Lavey’s final line was two-for-two, three walks, two runs, two RBI and a stolen base. Lavey is hitting three-for-five in the series with five walks.

AquaSox batters walked nine times in the game to increase their Northwest League leading team total to 113. Vancouver has the second most walks in the league with 92.
