Three BlueClaws Pitchers Combine on Two-Hitter in 2-1 Friday W

BROOKLYN, NY - Three BlueClaws pitchers - Ryan Dromboski, Kevin Warunek, and Juan Amarante - combined on a two hitter as the BlueClaws topped Brooklyn 2-1 on Friday night.

Dromboski went the first four while Warunek got five outs and Amarante the last 10 with five strikeouts. Brooklyn's first hit came with one out in the eighth, a triple from Antonio Jimenez off Amarante. The southpaw, however, struck out the next two.

Amarante gave up a single in the 9th but got Yonatan Henriquez flew out to center to end the game. The lefty earned his first save in the process.

Brooklyn took the lead in the third inning on a SAC fly from Sammy Strafura off Jersey Shore starter Ryan Dromboski. Strafura reached on an error and scored without a hit.

Dromboski came out after four hitless innings, issuing one walk and striking out four.

The BlueClaws took the lead in the fifth, scoring two runs on a throwing error to go up 2-1.

Brooklyn starter Luke Gabrysh, a former BlueClaw traded to the Mets on August 3rd, came out after four innings, allowing no runs on one hit with six strikeouts.

Juan Villavicencio and Devin Saltiban had the two BlueClaws hits in the win.
