The Somerset Patriots were unable to overcome a six-run deficit on Wednesday night at Mirabito Stadium in Binghamton, losing by a final score of 9-8.

Somerset jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first two innings on home runs by Trey Sweeney and Carlos Narvaez.

The Patriots then gave up three runs each in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to fall behind 9-3.

Somerset's pitching staff struck out a season-high 15 batters, highlighted by a career-high 10 strikeouts from starter Richard Fitts, who was the game's losing pitcher.

Trey Sweeney *(3-for-5, HR, RBI, R) hit his first home run of the season on the second pitch of the game. *Carlos Narvaez (1-for-3, HR, RBI, 2 RBI) went deep for a second consecutive game to make the score 2-0 Somerset in the second inning.
