AKRON, OH - Your Trenton Thunder offense was held hitless for the first six innings in an eventual 4-2 loss to the Akron RubberDucks in front of 6,075 fans at Canal Park.
Akron greeted your Thunder starting pitcher Domingo Germán rudely with the first batter of the game, Tyler Krieger, homering to the Tiki Terrance in right field to stake Akron to a 1-0 lead. The score remained 1-0 until the bottom of the 6th inning, when the 'Ducks added three runs to it off German.

The righty was in cruise-control, having allowed just one additional hit over the five innings that followed the leadoff home run, while striking out five straight batters at one point. Mike Papi began the bottom of the 6th inning with a double, and two batters later he was doubled home by Bobby Bradley for a 2-0 lead. German worked it to a two-out situation with a runner on first base, but Eric Haase delivered a two-run homer to left field which made it 4-0.
To that point, your Thunder were still without a hit off Akron starting pitcher Nick Pasquale. Pasquale returned for the 7th inning and walked Mike Ford for the second straight time before Miguel Andújar broke up the no-no bid with a double to left-centerfield. Your Thunder scored a run in the inning and added a run in the 9th, but Matt Snyder flew out to centerfield as the tying run to end the game.
Ford extended his current on-base streak to 13 games with his walks, eclipsing the 12-game streak he had to begin the season as the longest by a Thunder batter this season.
Your Thunder pile on the bus and hit the road east to return to action Thursday night against the Harrisburg Senators with a 7:00 p.m. first pitch. The game will feature postgame fireworks presented by the Hyatt Regency Princeton on Medical Professionals Night. Pregame coverage with Adam Giardino and Jon Mozes begins at 6:40 p.m. on your Thunder Radio Network and online at www.trentonthunder.com/broadcast.
