TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Thunder trailed 2-0 before ever taking the bat Thursday against the Reading Fightin Phils, but they score seven unanswered runs as they capped-off a four-game sweep with a 7-2 win Thursday afternoon.

On a day which began under the blanket of a 97-minute rain delay, your Thunder scored four times in the bottom of the 1st inning to take the lead for good of Reading starting pitcher Drew Anderson. He needed 39 pitches in the first inning as your Thunder sent 10 men to the plate.

Your Thunder's starting pitcher, Nestor Cortes tossed 84 pitches over 4.2 innings and came up one out short of qualifying for the victory. With consecutive doubles by Billy Fleming and Abiatal Avelino to begin the bottom of the 8th inning, your Thunder set themselves up for a two-run frame which helped pad the lead heading into the 9th.
