BELOIT, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers got a two-run home run for Ronnie Gideon in the fourth inning to snap a 2-2 at Pohlman Field on Saturday night. Wisconsin pitchers Jordan Desguin, Aaron Myers, and Luke Barker made sure that lead held up to the end of the game as the Rattlers beat the Beloit Snappers 4-2. The win was the second straight for the Timber Rattlers.

Beloit (38-41 overall, 6-4 second half) scored first with a run in the bottom of the first. Eric Mariñez hit a solo homer with one out to put the Snappers in front.

Wisconsin (31-47, 5-5) responded in the top of the second inning. Joantgel Segovia knocked in two runs with a one-out single.

The Snappers came back to tie the game in the bottom of the third. Luke Persico singled with two outs to drive in a runner on third.

In the top of the fourth, Tucker Neuhaus reached on an error with one out. Then, Gideon blasted the next pitch over the scoreboard in left-center for a two-run home run and the Rattlers were back in front 4-2. The homer was the eighth of the season for Gideon.

Desguin, the Rattlers starting pitcher, settled in after the third inning. He would retire ten of the final eleven batters he would face in the game as he pitched through the sixth inning and protected the lead. Desguin allowed four hits, walked one, and struck out three.

Beloit reliever Seth Martinez gave up the home run to Gideon in the fourth.   He would walk Nathan Rodriguez with two outs in the fourth and proceed to retire the next thirteen Wisconsin batters in a row.

The Timber Rattlers did not have another hit after the Gideon home run, Desguin and the two relievers made that a moot point.

Myers replaced Desguin to start the seventh inning and he worked around a two-out single. Myers would retire the top three hitters in the Beloit lineup in order in the bottom of the eighth. He struck out three in two innings before turning the ball over to Barker.

Barker pitched a 1-2-3 ninth with two strikeouts to close out the Snappers and earn his fourth save of the season.
