Alumni Winter League Update: February 13, 2023

Caribbean Series crowns champion and WBC Rosters announced
Victor Castaneda, a Timber Rattler in 2021, has been named to Mexico's roster for the World Baseball Classic.  Mexico is in Pool C with Great Britain, Colombia, Canada, & Team USA with games starting in Phoenix, Arizona on March 11. (Wisconsin Timber Rattlers)

The Caribbean Series ended with the Dominican Republic defeating Venezuela 3-0 in the Championship Game to wrap up the Winter League games for this offseason. The rosters for the World Baseball Classic have been released. Several former Timber Rattlers will be playing or coaching in this prestigious tournament. Here is a link to Michael Clair’s article on this year’s World Baseball Classic rosters from MLB.com. This year’s Classic starts March 7. The Championship Game will be held on March 21 in Miami.

Adam McCalvy has a tweet with all the Brewers in the WBC this year. Note that Michele Vassalotti was with Carolina in 2021 and 2022. It is possible that he will be a Timber Rattler in 2023 after the WBC tournament.
