EASTLAKE, Ohio – After back-to-back nights of losing to the Lake County Captains (Guardians affiliate) on extra-inning walk-offs, the TinCaps completed a five-run comeback to win 7-5 in ten innings on Sunday afternoon at Classic Auto Group Park.

Fort Wayne (27-36) trailed 5-0 until the offense ignited in the sixth inning. Colton Bender began the frame with a single. Soon after, Homer Bush Jr. (No. 8 Padres prospect) reached on an error and Bender scored. Jay Beshears (No. 27 Padres prospect) grounded out and Bush came home to make it a 5-2 game.

In the eighth, the TinCaps continued to shrink the deficit. After Beshears reached base with a single, Anthony Vilar smacked a two-run homer to pull within one. Later in the inning, Kai Murphy hit an RBI single to bring Devin Ortiz in to score and tie the game 5-5.

To begin extra innings, Bush Jr. led off with a single. Beshears doubled to score the automatic runner (Alain Camou) and take a 6-5 lead. To add more insurance, Ethan Salas (No. 1 Padres prospect) grounded out and Bush Jr. scored.

Each of the first four hitters in the batting order – Bush Jr, Beshears, Salas, and Vilar, went 2-for-5.

The 'Caps held Lake County (38-25) scoreless from the fifth inning on. Ryan Och and Tyler Morgan combined to pitch five scoreless innings and take the game to extras. Once Fort Wayne held a 7-5 lead in the tenth, Dwayne Matos closed it out by retiring the side in order.
