TinCaps Win Game That Was Suspended Yesterday, Game Two Gets Suspended in Fifth Inning

MIDLAND, Mich. – The Great Lakes Loons (55-43) (19-15) and Fort Wayne TinCaps (45-55) (18-16) planned to continue and finish a nine-inning game and play a seven-inning game. They did the first at TinCaps 12-5 win but could not complete the second scheduled contest on a 75-degree sunny and then rainy Sunday afternoon at Dow Diamond.

- The score was 7-0 TinCaps in the bottom of the second when yesterday’s game resumed today. Logan Wagner on the first pitch of Sunday tied the Loons all-time career home run record with a deep fly 387 feet. Wagner achieved 31 home runs in 179 games.

- Fort Wayne added five runs. Justin DeCriscio delivered a two-run double in the fifth inning. A balk tallied a roun in the eighth and an error at shortstop got the TinCaps to 12.

- Jaron Elkins in game one had a three-reach game. He drove in Logan Wagner with an RBI single. Wagner tallied his second RBI of the contest with an RBI double delivering home Emil Morales. Great Lakes went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position.

- Chuck Davalan has a 10-game multi-hit streak. He drove home a run in the ninth with an RBI double. In the 10-game stretch he has a nine-game RBI streak.

Game two saw four completed innings with a TinCaps 6-2 lead. Rain started pouring down making the field unplayable. The contest will be made up at a to be determined date from August 18th to August 23rd in Fort Wayne.

Rounding Things Out

Reynaldo Yean threw two scoreless innings today. His last 7.1 innings, the right-hander has permitted no runs.
