DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — CF-2B Ranser Amador picked up a pair of hits, including his second triple in the last two weeks, but Bradenton's five-run second inning was too much to overcome, as the Marauders clipped the Daytona Tortugas, 11-1, in front of 1,571 fans at Jackie Robinson Ballpark on Thursday night.

With the bases empty and two out in the second, 3B Alexander Mojica (1-4, 3 R, SO) ignited a rally with a looping single to left. 2B Francisco Acuña (2-5, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI, SO) proceeded to double down the left-field line — scoring the runner from first — to give Bradenton (41-21) an early 1-0 lead. DH Yoyner Fajardo (2-4, 2 RBI, BB) followed with a run-scoring single to right to double the lead, 2-0.

Things took a sour turn for Daytona (28-35) in the third. Three-straight walks loaded the bases to start the frame before a 1B Ernny Ordóñez (1-4, RBI, BB) ground out to first and a RF Jase Bowen (1-4, 2B, RBI, 3 SO) sacrifice fly to right pushed Bradenton's edge to 4-0. A two-base error and consecutive RBI singles from Acuña and Fajardo put the viXsitors up a touchdown, 7-0.

The Tortugas answered in the home third. Amador (2-3, R, 3B) tripled to center to begin the inning and scored two batters later on a sacrifice fly to right from SS-3B Gus Steiger (0-3, RBI).

Bradenton added another tally in the fifth on a bases-loaded walk to LF Jack Herman (0-3, R, RBI, 3 BB, 2 SO). The final three tallies of the evening came courtesy of the gopher ball. CF Hudson Head (1-5, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, BB, 2 SO) drove a two-run home run — his team-leading ninth of the year — in the seventh, while C Kyle Wilkie (2-5, 2 R, HR, RBI) clocked a 440-foot blast over the videoboard in left — his first — for a solo clout in the ninth.

In his first start since June 11, RHP Domingo González (6.0 IP, 4 H, R, ER, 10 SO) thrived for the Marauders. The 21-year-old tied career-bests in innings pitched (6.0) and strikeouts (10) en route to his third victory of the campaign. RHP Eddy Yean (3.0 IP, 5 SO) retired all but one batter over three scoreless frames of relief, earning his first professional save.

RHP James Marinan (2.2 IP, 4 H, 7 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 SO) could not escape the third for Daytona and suffered his third defeat.

The series continues will be the inaugural edition of the Tortugas' Friday Night Happy Hour presented by Ormond Brewing Company. There will be specials at concession stands on Ormond Brewing Company draft beers.

It is expected to be RHP Miguel Medrano (1-0, 1.17) to take the hill in an attempt to try and snap Daytona's brief three-game slide. Bradenton is projected to counter with RHP Logan Hofmann (3-1, 2.13). Gates open at 6 p.m. Coverage on the Tortugas Radio Network will begin on the MiLB First Pitch app and www.daytonatortugas.com at 6:50 p.m. The first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. from Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
