VISALIA, Calif.- The Tower Buzzers just keep rolling. On Saturday night, Ontario picked up its fourth win in a row, beating Visalia 5-3 at Valley Strong Ballpark and grabbing the series with a game to spare.

The win bumps Ontario’s record to 39-35. Now, with one more game left in the series, they’ve got a shot to take five of six on the road.

Ontario jumped all over Visalia right out of the gate. Jaron Elkins and Mairo Martinus started things off with back-to-back singles. Then Easton Shelton ripped a two-run single to right-center, putting the Buzzers in charge early. Joendry Vargas followed that up by blasting a two-run the following at bat. Just like that, it was 4-0 before the Rawhide even got a chance to settle in.

Jesus Tillero, meanwhile, looked as sharp starting his seventh game of the year. He pounded the zone all night, giving up four hits in six shutout innings and striking out eight without walking a batter. He hardly wasted a pitch, just 74 total, and picked up his fourth win, bringing his ERA down to 6.20.

Easton Shelton wasn’t done. In the fifth, he laced a double to left-center, driving in Ching-Hsien Ko for a fifth run. Shelton ended the night 2-for-4 with three RBIs. He’s got 68 RBIs on the season, and right now, he’s the motor in the middle of the Ontario lineup.

Vargas had another solid night too, two RBIs with his seventh homer of the year. Martinus also just keeps getting on base, collecting two more hits and pulling his average up to .311. Elkins added a pair at the top of the order, and Ontario racked up nine hits and stole three bases.

The only real drama showed up in the seventh. Tillero left with a 5-0 lead, but things got messy behind him. Three Ontario errors opened the door for Visalia, and the Rawhide cashed in with three unearned runs, even though they managed just a single hit. For a minute, it looked like the momentum might tip.

But Ontario’s bullpen slammed the door. Dailoui Abad came in with the bases loaded and kept things from getting any worse. After that, Accimias Morales tossed a scoreless eighth, and Jecsua Liborius made it look easy in the ninth for his fifth save.

The Buzzers did have a shaky moment on defense, but this win was really about another balanced night, clutch hitting, a strong performance from Tillero, and the bullpen getting it done when it mattered.

Ontario now has four straight wins, and they’re showing they can win any kind of game. Slugfests early in the week or tighter, pitching-heavy contests like these last two. They’re playing their best baseball of the season, and with one more matchup Sunday, they’ve got a shot to take five out of six from the Rawhide before heading to Fresno to continue this road trip.
