Barons Get 4-3 Walkoff Win Against the Trash Pandas on Tuesday Night

Sam Antonacci, hit by a pitch, sent home the winning run as the Birmingham Barons got the 4-3 walkoff win against the Rocket City Trash Pandas before 2,136 at Regions Field on Tuesday night. DJ Gladney's triple to lead off the ninth inning was the big blow for the Barons to get the home win.
Starting pitcher Hagen Smith had a solid start in the no-decision. He threw 75 pitches, where he pitched 5.0 innings, giving up only two hits, one earned run, and two walks with seven strikeouts. Andrew Dalquist was up next in the sixth inning, giving up two hits, two earned runs, and two walks with a strikeout. Adysin Coffee pitched the seventh and eighth innings, giving up nothing with five strikeouts in his six batters faced. Tyler Davis (1-7, 3.55) gets the win in relief as he pitched the ninth inning, and got a strikeout to end the top of the ninth inning.
The Barons scored first in the game in the bottom of the fourth inning when Caden Connor singled, and a throwing error allowed William Begolla to score from third base, and the Barons led 1-0. Braden Montgomery singled to left field, scoring Connor, and the Barons led 2-0.
In the top of the fifth inning, Mac McCroskey sacrificed a bunt to score David Mershon to make it a 2-1 score. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Michael Turner led off the inning with a rope double to right field. Mario Camilletti singled home Turner, and the Barons led 3-1. In the top of the sixth inning, a bases-loaded walk scored Ryan Nicholson, and a sacrifice fly to right field scored Korey Holland to tie the game at 3-3.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, Gladney leads off with a triple. Turner walked, Camilletti struck out, and Jason Matthews walked to load the bases. With the count no balls and one strikes, Antonacci gets hit on the forearm to walk in Gladney with the winning run.
For the Barons, Montgomery had a hit, two walks, and an RBI. Camiletti had a hit, an RBI, and a stolen base.
The Barons play game 2 of the six-game series with the Trash Pandas on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
