North Little Rock, AR-The Arkansas Travelers delivered a beauty on the annual Clunker Car Night at Dickey-Stephens Park with a 9-1 pasting of the Midland RockHounds in front of a crowd of 9,444 on Friday. A four-run first got the Travs off to a fast start and they went on to score in four of the first five innings. Meanwhile, Williams Pérez authored another quality start working six strong innings on 87 pitches while allowing just one run on four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. Arkansas is now 8-1 in games started by Perez. It was a team effort as eight of the nine Travs in the lineup came up with at least one hit.
Moments That Mattered
* Dario Pizzano paid off three straight singles opening the game when he blasted an opposite field three-run homer to give the Travs a big, early lead.
* Perez never allowed more than one hit in any of his six innings and at one point retired 11 of 12 batters with five on strikeouts.
* Kyle Lewis provided the exclamation point to the night with a booming 419 foot, three-run homer to centerfield in the fifth inning. It was the first home run in 17 games with Arkansas for Lewis.
