Springfield, MO-The Arkansas Travelers moved to 2-0 in the second half of the Texas League season with a 7-3 win over the Springfield Cardinals on Thursday night in front of a sold out Hammons Field. The Travs were held without a hit through the first five innings before putting up multiple runs in each of the next two frames. Chuck Taylor drove in the go-ahead run in the both the sixth and seventh innings. Arkansas' bullpen fired 3.2 scoreless innings to secure the victory.
Moments That Mattered
* Yonathan Mendoza walked to open the sixth inning before Braden Bishop followed with the Travs first hit of the night, a hustle double to left-center field. Taylor then pasted a ball down the right field line for a two-run double to put the Travs up.
* Springfield tied it in the bottom of the sixth when Stephen Perakslis allowed a pair of inherited runners to score.
* Taylor put the Travs back on top with a sacrifice fly on a foul ball down the left field line in the bottom of the seventh. They would add to the lead on Joey Curletta's bases loaded walk and a screaming two-run double by Dario Pizzano.
