North Little Rock, AR-The Arkansas Travelers kept the Springfield Cardinals offense down and took a 6-1 win on Friday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. North Little Rock, AR-The Arkansas Travelers kept the Springfield Cardinals offense down and took a 6-1 win on Friday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. Ljay Newsome earned his first Double-A win pitching five innings and giving up just a run on four hits. Jack Anderson, Aaron Fletcher, Joey Gerber and Art Warren each pitched a scoreless inning to finish out the game. Luis Liberato and Logan Taylor drove in two runs apiece as the Travs banged out 11 hits.
Moments That Mattered
* Cal Raleigh opened the scoring with a double to put the Travs on top four hitters into the game. Liberato followed with a single to score two more but was thrown out at second trying to stretch it into a double.
* Newsome surrendered a solo homer opening the second then put up three straight zeroes to preserve the lead and hand the game over to the bullpen.

* Aaron Fletcher, recently acquired by the M's in a trade from the Nationals, made his Travs debut and pitched a scoreless seventh inning with three strikeouts and one hit allowed.
