North Little Rock, AR—The Arkansas Travelers suffered defeat for the first time in 2023 falling 7-4 to the Springfield Cardinals on Thursday night. Michael McGreevy dealt for 7.2 innings and shutting down a red hot Travs offense. McGreevy earned his first win of the season, allowing just one run on four hits. At one point, he retired 13 straight Travs hitters. Arkansas made it interesting late when a home run from Leo Rivas cut the margin to two in the eighth inning but that was as close as the Travs would get.

Moments That Mattered

* Springfield broke the game open with three runs in the sixth inning. Chandler Redmond’s two-run homer capped the scoring and finished Miller’s night.

* Arquimedes Gamboa connected for a two-out RBI single in the top of the 9th pushing the Cards lead back to three and stopping the Travs momentum.
