North Little Rock, AR-A pair of homeruns were enough to back a strong pitching effort as the Arkansas Travelers took a 3-2 win over the Springfield Cardinals on Wednesday night at Dickey-Stephens Park in front of 7,700 in the series opener. The homeruns from Braden Bishop and Dario Pizzano marked the team's first multi-homer game since June 2nd when Bishop hit two on his own. With the win, the Travs pick up their first victory in the last week ending a four game slide. Nathan Bannister kept the Cardinals off the board through five innings while outdueling Springfield starter Anthony Shew.

* Braden Bishop socked a two-run opposite field homer to open the scoring in the third inning.
* Dario Pizzano added a solo homer an inning later.
* Springfield loaded the bases with one out in the seventh on two errors and a walk but a ground ball double play ended the threat. Arkansas would turn another double play again the next inning.
