BILOXI, MS - The Biloxi Shuckers saw their four-game winning streak come to an end on Friday night as Duane Underwood Jr. and the Tennessee Smokies emerged victorious by a score of 6-0. The Shuckers managed only two hits in just their second loss in their last 11 games.
Despite the loss, the Shuckers won't lose ground to first-place Mobile if the BayBears lose their game at Pensacola. The Shuckers will either remain 1.0 game out of first or fall to 2.0 games back with 23 games to play.

Underwood (W, 12-5) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and allowed just a Jacob Nottingham bloop single over 7.0 scoreless frames. Nottingham's sixth-inning single bounced off the glove of diving center fielder Charcer Burks to spoil Underwood's chance at history, but the Smokies starter still became the first 12-game winner in the Southern League this season.
The Shuckers sent Luis Ortiz (L, 4-6) to the mound for the first time in two weeks after the righty recovered from an illness, but Milwaukee's top pitching prospect was unable to complete the first inning. Tennessee got home runs from Jason Vosler and Yasiel Balaguert to jump out to an early 4-0 lead.
Travis Hissong allowed two runs, including a solo home run to Burks, but completed 3.1 frames to put Biloxi's pitching plan back on track. Taylor Williams , activated from the disabled list earlier in the day, struck out two in a scoreless inning, and Forrest Snow backed him up with 3.0 shutout innings of his own.
Preston Morrison allowed a Dustin DeMuth double in the eighth but bounced back to finish off the final two innings to complete the Smokies victory.
The Shuckers will try to start a new winning streak on Saturday night as they send nine-game winner Aaron Wilkerson to the mound against Tennessee's Stephen Perakslis. First pitch from MGM Park is at 6:35 pm with live coverage beginning at 6:15 pm on Cruisin' WGCM AM-1240/FM-100.9 and the Shuckers Radio Network. The game will also be available at biloxishuckers.com, MiLB.TV and TuneIn Radio.
