Voyagers Break Helena Stranglehold

Great Falls, MT-The Voyagers avoided a sweep and snapped a six-game, season series losing streak to Helena with a 4-3 victory over the Brewers Sunday afternoon at Centene Stadium.

Great Falls (23-19, 1-3) is now 4-8 in the season series with the Brewers. The Voyagers home record improved to 16-7. Helena (20-22, 3-1) fell to 9-14 on the road.
The Brewers started the scoring with a 1^st inning tally. Yeison Coca singled to right leading off the game. A groundout moved Coca to second and he reached third on a walk of David Fry. Eddie Silva drove in Coca on a fielder's choice grounder to second.
The Voyagers leveled the game with a run in the bottom of the 5^th. Back-to-back doubles into the right field corner from Alex Destino and Gunnar Troutwine tied the game.
Both sides plated runs in the 6^th. Helena quickly regained the lead with two in the top half. A two-out rally was started by Eddie Silva's double into shallow center. LG Castillo drilled a run-scoring triple deep to right-center that broke the tie. Castillo later scored on a wild pitch for a 3-1 lead.
The Voyagers closed the gap to one in the bottom of the 6^th with a fielder's choice RBI by Alex Destino. Steele Walker scored on the play after reaching base with a one-out hit-by-pitch. Logan Sowers and Amado Nunez delivered line drive singles to right in the frame as well.
Great Falls took the lead for good in the bottom of the 7^th after Travis Moniot reached on a one-out bunt single to third. The very next batter, Ramon Beltre, plugged a drive deep up the right field side that left the ballpark for a 4-3 Voyagers lead. It was Beltre's fourth homer of the season.
The Voyagers outhit Helena 9-to-8. Ramon Beltre finished 2-for-4 and extended his consecutive game on-base streak to 24. Yeison Coca and Luis Avila each posted two hits for the Brewers.
On the mound, Chris Comito picked up the win in relief. Comito (4-4) worked five innings and gave up two earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Brandon Presley took the loss in relief. Presley (0-2) pitched just one-third of an inning and allowed two earned runs on two hits. Austin Conway earned his first save of the season with one strikeout in a clean 9^th inning.
