Midwest League Second Half Standings
The six-game sequence in Peoria was the final meeting between the Rattlers and Chiefs in 2026, as Wisconsin claimed the season series with a 14-10 record.
The Rattlers opened the series strong with a pair in the win column: a 5-4 win on Tuesday and 7-3 win on Wednesday. The momentum was briefly halted in a 6-2 loss on Thursday. The bats were back at it in a 9-3 Friday victory before trading shutouts with the Chiefs: a 2-0 loss on Independence Day, followed by a 4-0 win in the series finale.

The series win was Wisconsin’s tenth of the year, and puts the Rattler 2026 series record at 10-3-1
Wisconsin is also now 26-13 in 2026 away games, the best road record amongst Midwest League teams this season. It also ties for the fewest road losses in minor league baseball.
The pitching staff had another successful week of work, putting up a 2.42 ERA against the Chiefs. Wisconsin walked just 14 batters in the series while striking out 58, calculating the K/BB ratio to an impressive 4.14.
The Rattler pitchers were especially good in keeping the Chiefs hitters in the ballpark. Peoria entered the series with a league-leading 108 homers this season. The Chiefs hit only one home in the entire six-game set.
Ten of the 58 strikeouts by Wisconsin pitchers came from the left arm of Wande Torres, a new single-game professional high. His seven innings pitched also topped his professional best. Torres, who earned the win in his lone series appearance on Friday, now holds a season record of 6-5, and allowed just one earned run with one walk in that game. The quality start was Torres’ third of the season and second in his last two outings.

Friday’s win complimented the quality start from Ethan Dorchies on Wednesday. Dorchies, rated as the Brewers #18 prospect by MLB Pipeline, struck out seven batters throughout his six-inning day while allowing just one earned run and one walk. Like Torres, this was Dorchies’ second consecutive quality start.

Josh Knoth made two starts and earned the win in his five-inning performance on Tuesday to set the tone for the pitchers. Knoth pitched seven innings in the series with eight strikeouts and one walk.
Peyton Niksch stacked five innings over two appearances, earned his first career Midwest League win in a relief appearance on Sunday, and allowed one earned run with six strikeouts and no walks in the series.
Jayden Dubanewicz provided more pitching fireworks with the Rattlers third quality start of the series in a tough loss on the Fourth of July. Dubanewicz allowed just one earned run in his start, which lasted a season-high and tied a professional-high of six innings. The Brewers #25 prospects also struck out five and walked two.
Quinton Low pitched twice in the series, which included his first Midwest League save in Tuesday’s one-run contest. Low earned his first save since 2022 by getting the final five outs of the game, including a huge double play to escape a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning.

Tyler Rodriguez was 8-for-24 in his first week as a Rattler. The outfielder hit a two-run homer late in Sunday’s game to give the bullpen some breathing room in crunch time. Rodriguez had three multi-hit games in the series, including a three-hit night on Wednesday.

Rodriguez wasn’t the only new kid on the block to make a statement.
Yannic Walther homered in his first Midwest League at-bat on Wednesday to get Wisconsin on the board. His successful High-A debut included: 2-for-3 with two RBI, the homer and two runs. At the catcher position, Walther threw out a pair of baseruners on stolen bases attempts in his first game as a Rattler. Walther ended the series hitting 4-for-10 in three games played.
