Warren & Uribe Earn Monthly Brewers Honor

Zavier Warren and Weston Wilson Earn Players of the Month; Abner Uribe and Ethan Small Named Pitchers of the Month

ZEBULON - The Milwaukee Brewers have named Mudcats catcher/infielder Zavier Warren and former Mudcats infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson as the their Minor League Players of the Month for June. The Brewers also named current Mudcats right-hander Abner Uribe and Triple-A Nashville's lefty Ethan Small as Minor League Pitchers of the Month.

ZEBULON - The Milwaukee Brewers have named Mudcats catcher/infielder Zavier Warren and former Mudcats infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson as the their Minor League Players of the Month for June. The Brewers also named current Mudcats right-hander Abner Uribe and Triple-A Nashville's lefty Ethan Small as Minor League Pitchers of the Month.

Warren, 22, went 20-for-64 at the plate and hit .313/.457/.703 with a 1.160 OPS, seven home runs, two triples, 16 walks and 13 runs over 18 games in June. Warren’s .703 slugging percentage, seven homers and 1.160 OPS were all Low-A East highs during the month. He additionally finished June ranked second in Low-A East in on-base (.457), ninth in average (.313), tied for seventh in walks (16) and tied for eighth in total bases (45).

The Brewers selected Warren in the third round of the 2020 First-Year Player Draft out of Central Michigan University. He is currently in his first Minor League season. Baseball America ranked Warren as the Brewers' No. 9 prospect ahead of the 2021 season.

Uribe, 21, pitched to a 0.52 ERA and held opponents to a .140 average over seven relief appearances in June. He also totaled 27 strikeouts, 11 walks and allowed just one run over 17.1 innings in June.

A native of Santo Domingo Norte in the Dominican Republic, Uribe was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Brewers on July 2, 2018. He spent the 2018 season with the Dominican Summer League Brewers before splitting time with the Rocky Mountain Vibes and Arizona League’s Brewers Blue team in 2019. Uribe is currently in his first season at the Low-A level. Baseball America ranked Uribe as the Brewers' No. 22 prospect ahead of the 2021 season.

First established in 1991, the two-time Southern League Champion Mudcats are in their 31st consecutive season of baseball at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C. The Mudcats are owned and operated by the Milwaukee Brewers.
