Willi Castro has been added to the Northern Division roster for the Carolina League All-Star Classic, which will take place next Tuesday, June 20, at Salem Memorial Ballpark at 7:05 p.m.

The switch-hitting shortstop had a team-best 12-game hitting streak during May and hit .319 overall for the month. Castro currently sports a .291 average with 12 doubles, four home runs and 29 RBIs in 57 games. Of his four home runs, one has been a game-tying blast while the other three have all been go-ahead homers. That includes a game-winning two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning June 9 against Frederick.
Castro joins Hillcats teammates Argenis Angulo, Shao-Ching Chiang, Sam Haggerty, Sicnarf Loopstok and Triston McKenzie on the Northern Division squad. This marks the first time since 1995 that the Carolina League will host its own All-Star Game.
Lynchburg and Wilmington conclude their four-game set Wednesday at City Stadium when Shao-Ching Chiang (7-3, 2.57) takes on right-hander A.J. Puckett (5-5, 4.24) at 6:30 p.m. It's Jimmy Buffett Night presented by John Stewart Walker, Inc. and Oldies 103.9 & 106.9 FM. There will be live pregame and postgame music, and one lucky fan will receive a free trip to Myrtle Beach courtesy of VisitMyrtleBeach.com. Gates open at 5:30, and the game can be heard live at www.lynchburg-hillcats.com.
