ABERDEEN, MD - Ethan Wilson broke a 3-3 tie in the ninth inning with an RBI single as the BlueClaws topped Aberdeen 4-3 on Friday night at Ripken Stadium.

Wilson brought in Jared Carr with the winning run before Jonathan Hughes threw a scoreless bottom of the ninth for his fourth save of the season. Jersey Shore (29-54) has taken two of the first three gmaes of the series from the IronBirds (53-31).

The BlueClaws scored twice in the first inning. A throwing error by the IronBirds second baseman Billy Cook made it 1-0 and Luis Garcia scored on a throwing error from third as Wilson stole second base for the second run. Freylin Minyety singled home a run in the second inning.

Aberdeen scored three times off Mick Abel in the second inning - an RBI double by Andres Angulo, RBI triple from Isaac Bellony, and an RBI double from Davis Tavarez - but that is all they would get off the BlueClaws starter. Abel went six innings and struck out seven while walking two.

Erubiel Armenta (3-2) struck out three over two scoreless innings before Hughes got the last three outs.

Tavarez had three of the five IronBirds hits while Wilson went 2-5 for the BlueClaws in the win.

The teams will play a double-header on Saturday and a single-game on Sunday. Dominic Pipkin and Andrew Painter will start both ends of the double-header for Jersey Shore on Saturday.
