GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers got what they needed on Tuesday night to snap a ten-game losing streak. Starting pitcher Nelson Hernández allowed a run over six innings and received enough offensive support in a 3-1 over the Clinton LumberKings at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.
Wisconsin (4-14) took the lead with a two-out rally in the bottom of the second inning. Payton Henry singled with two away to keep the inning alive. Nick Roscetti followed with a double down the third base line and Henry raced all the way around the bases to score. Roscetti took third on the throw to the plate and the Rattlers cashed in on that when Joantgel Segovia dropped a bunt single up the third base line.

The Rattlers added to their lead in the third inning without a hit. Pat McInerney drew a lead-off walk and Demi Orimoloye was hit by a pitch. The duo pulled a double steal with one out to get into scoring position. Gilbert Lara got McInerney home with a ground out to short for the 3-0 lead.

Clinton (11-4) got on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth inning. Hernández walked Ariel Sandoval with one out. Jack Larsen was next and he lined a double off the wall in left to get Sandoval home. Hernández ended his night with a strikeout and a popout to strand Larsen at second base.

Hern
ández pitched six innings, scattered six hits, walked one, and struck out five in the game. His performance put him in line for his second win of the season.

Michael Petersen relieved Hern
ández to start the top of the seventh inning and continued his hot start out of the Wisconsin bullpen to nail down the win for Hernández and pick up his first professional save. Petersen struck out four over three scoreless frames on Tuesday night. He has pitched 11-2/3 innings over four appearances in 2018 and has not allowed a run.

The LumberKings stranded seven runners, went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position, and hit into two double plays in the game as they saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end
