Following their historic opening night on Thursday, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers have announce that their contest this evening in Woodbridge, Virginia against the Potomac Nationals has been postponed due to poor weather conditions. The two teams will still be able to finish their season-opening four game series, as a seven inning doubleheader has been scheduled to make up the postponement tomorrow at 5:00 PM.

The Woodpeckers are still flying high after the astonishing 15-0 rout of the Nationals last night, in which eight of nine batters collected at least one hit, all nine batters scored at least one run, and six batters recorded at least one RBI.
As the rain continues to hit the east coast, the Woodpeckers will look on to tomorrow, where JP France will be the assumed starter for the first game of the twin bill. France, who turned 24 just yesterday, will be making his debut at the Advanced-A level, after marking up a 2-0 record in 2018 with a dead even 0.50 ERA with Short Season-A Tri-City and Single-A Quad Cities. The right-hander was the Astros' 14th round draft pick out of Mississippe State University last June. The game two starter is to be determined, and both starters may be subject to change.
Following the doubleheader on Saturday, the Woodpeckers and Nationals will play the final game of their four game tilt on Sunday, before Fayetteville continues the remainder of their 14-game roadtrip as they head to Maryland to face the Frederick Keys.
