Highlights of the promotional schedule include two bobblehead giveaways, multiple family-friendly themed nights, and the return of the popular Jersey Auction Nights.
Opening Day of the 2019 season kicks off at home with the first Friday Night Fireworks display on Friday, June 14th against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. In addition to the fireworks, the first 500 fans will receive a 2019 Season Schedule Magnet on Opening Day. Fans will have nine opportunities to enjoy one of the most celebrated fireworks shows in the area, including a special Thursday night show on June 20th commemorating West Virginia Day, and a thrilling fireworks presentation on Sunday, July 7th in honor of Independence Day.
The fan favorite Jersey Auction Nights, featuring themed jerseys that will be auctioned during the game, will occur on Saturday evenings in June and August. This season's themes include Super Hero Night (June 15th), Wizard Night (June 22nd), the highly anticipated return of Star Wars Night (June 29th), and Military Appreciation Night (August 10th)
Bobblehead Night, one of the most popular promotional giveaways, returns for two dates this season, on Thursday, July 11th and Thursday, August 8th. Both bobblehead giveaways will feature prominent athletes associated with West Virginia and the Black Bears, with details to be released as the season draws closer. Other giveaways include the Team Photo giveaway on August 18th.
For the second year, Black Bears players will don the Moonshiners jerseys against the Batavia Muckdogs, as the wildly popular WV Moonshiners promotion returns, July 23rd-25th. Bark in the Park presented by Pampered 4 Paws (Thursday, August 1st) allows fans to bring their dog friends to the game for a $5 donation, with proceeds benefiting Hearts of Gold. The Wow! Factory will once again host the pre-game Paint N' Sip Party on Ladies' Night (July 18th), while also holding a pre-game children's event on Sunday, June 23rd.
Family-friendly themed nights remain a staple of the Black Bears promotional schedule. Tyler's Amazing Balancing Act, as seen on television shows like America's Got Talent and Ripley's Believe It or Not!, makes its debut at the Monongalia County Ballpark on Tuesday, July 30th. While children will delight in familiar promotions like Princess and Pirates Night on June 19th, new promotions like Fortnite Night (July 31st) offer a different experience for young fans. Paw Patrol Night on Tuesday, August 13th provides kids with the opportunity to meet their favorite characters from the popular Nickelodeon Jr. show, as well as enjoy themed activities throughout the ballpark. As always, Kids Run the Bases continues post-game every Sunday.
