Bus Trip Scheduled for Futures Game in KC
Fans will get field box tickets for both the Major and Minor League games, travel each way via charter bus, and a postgame meal provided by Kansas City's famous Gates Bar-B-Q. Buses will depart from Werner Park at 7 a.m., and should be back in Omaha approximately four hours after the conclusion of the Futures Game. The cost for the entire outing is $65 per person.
"Our staff has put together a great package at a great value," said Storm Chasers Vice President and General Manager Martie Cordaro. "This will also be the first opportunity for fans to see the Storm Chasers play in the franchise's new uniforms, plus they'll be able to take in a Major League game from some of the best seats at Kauffman Stadium."
Though rosters will not be set until the close of Spring Training, the rosters for the intra-organizational matchup could include as many as eight of Kansas City's Top-10 prospects according to Baseball America, including 1B Eric Hosmer (No. 1), OF Wil Myers (No. 2), 3B Mike Moustakas (No. 3), LHP John Lamb (No. 4), LHP Mike Montgomery (No. 5), LHP Danny Duffy (No. 7), LHP Chris Dwyer (No. 8) and RHP Aaron Crow (No. 9).
Hosmer and Moustakas, two of the top sluggers in all of Minor League Baseball, could make up a dynamic first base-third base tandem for the Storm Chasers when the season gets underway on April 8. The first game at brand-new Werner Park is scheduled for Friday, April 15 at 7:05 p.m.
