Werner Park hosts Centris' 5th Annual Free Movie Night

Free event features"The Goonies"on the Werner Park Videoboard, Carnival, and more

OMAHA, Neb. - The free Centris Movie Night tradition continues at Werner Park on Friday September 25 with a screening of The Goonies. The festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. when gates open to with a free Carnival. The event is open to the public courtesy of Centris Federal Credit Union.

This annual family-friendly event begins at 6:00 p.m. with a carnival held on the Werner Park concourse. EJ from The Kat 103.7 will be the host for the event, and "The Goonies" will start at 7:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring a blanket and can either watch the movie from the field or Werner Park seats. Lawn chairs are also permitted on the Werner Park infield only. Food and drink will be available for purchase during the event.

The 1985 cult-classic film, The Goonies is a PG-rated film written by Steven Spielberg (Indiana Jones series, Jurassic Park) and Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire). The Adventure-Comedy stars Sean Astin (Rudy, Lord of the Rings series) and Josh Brolin (W., True Grit) as a fantasy tale of two brothers finding out they lose their house and come up with a desperate way to keep it. They find a treasure map and bring some friends along for the search. They are all out looking for the "X" and trying to get away from a group of bad guys who are also after the treasure. The film has a run-time of 1 hour and 54 minutes.

Upon entrance visitors will also receive a free koozie and a raffle ticket good for entry in a drawing for giveaway items.
