Selected in the 5th round (No. 149) of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Miami Marlins out of the University of South Carolina... signed with the Marlins on July 18, 2021 for $358,300, right around the slot value of $360,800... was previously selected in the 39th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees out of George Jenkins High School but did not sign... instead he spent three seasons with South Carolina from 2018-2021, appearing in 129 games... hit .255 with 23 homers, 80 RBIs and 19 steals in 455 at-bats at South Carolina... led Carolina with 12 stolen bases on 12 attempts, which also tied for 10th in the SEC in 2021 as a junior... made the SEC Honor Roll all three seasons... led the Gamecocks with a .327 batting average in 2020 with 16 games played and 13 starts in a Covid-shortened season... led the SEC with five triples in 2019... majored in retailing at SC... son of Christopher and Angela Allen; his brother, Dylan, played baseball at Liberty University... grew up in Lakeland, Florida... made his Marlins debut on April 8, 2022 with Jupiter...
