Selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 26th round of the 2010 MLB Draft out of Des Moines Area Community College.. signed with the Dodgers on Aug. 16, 2010... was selected as an MiLB.com Organization All-Star for the Dodgers in 2013 and 2014 and again with the Reds in 2016... was voted as Baseball America Double-A All-Star in 2014 and was named to the Arizona Fall League's All-Prospect Team in 2014... was part of a three-team trade in 2015 that sent second basemen Jose Peraza and Brandon Dixon to Cincinnati Reds... made his Major League debut with the Reds in 2015... after he was promoted on 8/2/15, following Jay Bruce's trade to the Mets, he became the club's primary right fielder (55g, 56-193, .290, 7 2B, 1 3B, 8 HR, 32 RBIs)... in his last 44 appearances of the season beginning 8/15, he hit .329 (51-155, 6 2b, 1 3b, 7 hr, 28 rbi)...was on the Reds' Opening Day roster and hit .175 in 26 apps and 14 starts until he was optioned to Louisville on 5/8, when OF Kyle Waldrop was promoted... in 2017, his first full season in the Major Leagues, he became just the seventh right fielder in Reds history to produce at least 30 homers (Jay Bruce 3, Frank Robinson 3, Dave Parker 2, Wally Post 2, Ival Goodman, Ken Griffey Jr.)... was 1 of 18 players in the National League and 41 in the Major Leagues to hit at least 30 homers... among National League leaders, he ranked eighth in both times hit by a pitch (14) and HR ratio (15.8ab)... played RF (120g, 115gs) and CF (15g, 13gs)... made his second straight Opening Day roster... in 2018, he was on the Reds' Opening Day roster for the third straight year... missed 43 games during 2 stints on the 10-day disabled list, from 4/9-4/19 with a right ulnar nerve contusion (Sean Doolittle HBP on 4/1 vs Wsh) and from 7/18-8/24 with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder (collision with outfield wall on 7/14 at StL)... led the team with 73 starts in RF... in 2019, he was on the Reds' Opening Day roster for the fourth straight season but was optioned to Louisville on 5/4, when LHP Cody Reed was promoted, after hitting .123 with 2 HR and 7 RBI in 30 apps and 22 starts for the Reds... spent the rest of the season on the Bats' roster or injured list... on 8/6/19 had surgery on his left shoulder to repair the torn labrum... parents both work as engineers in Iowa... made Reds Opening Day roster each year from 2016-19... received 2013 Branch Rickey Award as Dodgers Minor League Player of the Year.

Played one season in 2010 at Des Moines Area Community College, where he was a second-team National Junior College Athletic Association All-American, Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Year, first-team ICCAC All-Region and All-North Plain District... led DMACC in hitting (.446), runs scored (81), HR (20), slugging percentage (.877) and walks (30) while ranking second in hits (91), doubles (22), triples (3) and RBI (82)… played for Green Bay Bullfrogs in Northwoods League in 2010... committed to play collegiately at Wichita State University before electing to sign with Dodgers.
