Awards Show: Two more honors announced

Frenchick and Commander honored by South Atlantic League
Box Office Manager Hannah Frenchick was named as the South Atlantic League's Patriot Award winner for 2017.

CHARLESTON, WV (September 7, 2017) - The South Atlantic League has announced its 2017 Outstanding Achievement Awards and two members of the West Virginia Power staff have been honored. All 14 teams as well as the field managers and umpires participated in the voting for these awards.

CHARLESTON, WV (September 7, 2017) - The South Atlantic League has announced its 2017 Outstanding Achievement Awards and two members of the West Virginia Power staff have been honored. All 14 teams as well as the field managers and umpires participated in the voting for these awards.

Hannah Frenchick has been named the 2017 recipient of the Patriot Award. The award recognizes her outstanding support of the Armed Forces and her engagement with local veterans. Frenchick, a veteran of the Army herself, has spent the past two seasons with the Power as their Box Office Manager. She will also be the South Atlantic League's nomination for the Charles K. Murphy Patriot Award, a honor given to one individual across all of Minor League Baseball.
Marcus Commander was selected as the Visiting Clubhouse Manager of the Year. This award recognizes Commander for his unique ability to cater to each manager, staff and team to visit Appalachian Power Park in 2017, often showing support for each club regardless of affiliate or his affiliation to the Power.  
"I'm certainly thrilled for both Hannah and Marcus," said Power General Manager Tim Mueller. "They have each added a great component to what we do at Appalachian Power Park and it is tremendous to see their efforts honored at the league and industry level.
