Round Rock Express Reveal 2019 Home Schedule

The Round Rock Express announced their 70-game home schedule for the team's historic 20th anniversary season on Thursday afternoon. The 2019 home campaign will kick off with Opening Day at Dell Diamond on Tuesday, April 9 as the rival Nashville Sounds come to town for a three-game set. The opening homestand continues with a four-game series against the Memphis Redbirds from Friday, April 12-Monday, April 15.
The newest member of the Pacific Coast League will visit Dell Diamond for the first time on Tuesday, May 21 as San Antonio joins the Triple-A ranks. The Colorado Springs Sky Sox franchise is set to move to the Alamo City for the 2019 campaign. Round Rock will round out their home slate with another four-game series against San Antonio from Monday, August 26-Thursday, August 29.
The full schedule features 11 homestands which encompass all 70 home games. Dell Diamond will be home to 12 Thursday, 10 Friday and 11 Saturday and Sunday games, as well as eight weekday contests on Mondays and nine on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
After a five-game homestand against the New Orleans Baby Cakes from Wednesday, April 24-Sunday, April 28, the Express will return home for a marathon 13-game homestand from Saturday, May 11-Friday, May 24. The set begins with a four-game series against the Oklahoma City Dodgers before the Sounds return for a five-game series. San Antonio rounds out the season's longest homestand with their maiden trip to Round Rock.
The 2019 home schedule features five homestands of five games or less. The Iowa Cubs (Thursday, May 30-Sunday, June 2), Omaha Storm Chasers (Saturday, June 29-Wednesday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 23-Thursday, July 25) and Dodgers (Thursday, August 15-Sunday, August 18) each make short trips to Round Rock throughout the season.
Based on the Pacific Coast League nonconference schedule, Dell Diamond will play host to Pacific Conference foes the Reno Aces (Wednesday, June 12-Friday, June 14), Tacoma Rainiers (Saturday, June 15-Tuesday, June 18), Fresno Grizzlies (Tuesday, July 30-Thursday, August 1) and Sacramento River Cats (Friday, August 2-Monday, August 5).
After the Triple-A All-Star Break from Monday, July 8-Wednesday, July 10, the Express will return home to face the Cubs (Thursday, July 11-Sunday, July 14) and Redbirds (Monday, July 15-Thursday, July 18). The final homestand of the season begins on Friday, August 23 as Round Rock and New Orleans meet for a three-game showdown prior to San Antonio's second and final visit of the year.
The team will celebrate Mother's Day with a home game on Sunday, May 12 as well as Father's Day on Sunday, June 16. Round Rock's annual Independence Day Celebration will take place on Wednesday, July 3 against Omaha.
Individual game times will be announced in November as the PCL releases the complete 2019 schedule. Promotions, theme nights and other events will be announced in early 2019.
