FORT WORTH, TX- The Texas League began their annual awards season on Wednesday when President Tim Purpura announced the Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year and then yesterday, announced the Postseason All-Star team.
Today, he would like to announce Omar Lopez from the Corpus Christi Hooks as the Manager of the Year and hitting coach Troy Snitker from the Corpus Christi Hooks as the Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Coach of the Year. The two awards were voted on by coaches, staff and media of the Texas League.

Lopez, is in his first year managing the Hooks and his 20th with the Houston Astros organization. He previously had stops with Advanced-A Buies Creek in the Carolina League in 2017 and Single-A Quad Cities in the Midwest League in 2016. Lopez also managed the Caribes de Anzoategui in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League and led them to the 2017 VPBL title.
Snitker, is in his first season as the Hooks hitting coach and his third season with the Houston Astros organization. Prior to this season, he was Lopez's hitting coach with Buies Creek last year and was rehab hitting coordinator and GCL coach in 2016. He is also the son of Braves manager Brian Snitker.
